Flexible metal bellows flanged ripple compensator stainless steel pipe expansion joint. The bellows is a corrugated tubular element, typically of metal, whose flexibility allows it to expand, contract and flex while resisting pressure.
At the heart of the compensator is the bellows, an elastic element that expands and contracts to take up displacement in the line.
A typical assembly includes the bellows, end pipes, brackets, flanges and conduits, combined into one flexible compensator.
As a compensation element, the flexible metal compensator uses the bellows' controlled expansion and contraction to absorb displacement. Waveforms such as circular or spiral can be selected to suit different applications.
